How to Uninstall SSL in Bluehost
Welcome to Ben’s Experience! In this tutorial, I’ll show you step-by-step how to uninstall SSL in Bluehost. If you’ve installed an SSL certificate on your Bluehost-hosted website but now need to remove it, follow these instructions carefully.
Step 1: Access Your Bluehost Account
First, log into your Bluehost account. Once inside, navigate to the “Websites” section, where you’ll see a list of your domains.
Step 2: Go to Advanced Settings
Under the domain where you want to uninstall the SSL certificate, click on “Settings” and then go to “Advanced.” Scroll down to the bottom and click on “Manage” next to cPanel.
Step 3: Navigate to SSL/TLS Management
Now that you’re in cPanel, scroll down to the “Security” section. Here, you’ll find the “SSL/TLS” option. Click on it to manage your SSL certificates.
Step 4: Uninstall the SSL Certificate
Next, click on “Manage SSL sites.” You’ll see a list of all the domains associated with your Bluehost account. Find the domain for which you want to uninstall the SSL certificate and click on “Uninstall” next to it. Confirm your decision, and the SSL certificate will be removed.
Step 5: Verify the Uninstallation
To ensure the SSL certificate was successfully uninstalled, return to your Bluehost account. Go to the “Security” section, click on the three dots, and select “View SSL Logs.” Find your domain, and if everything was done correctly, it will now show as “Unsecured” because the SSL certificate has been removed.
Final Thoughts
Uninstalling an SSL certificate in Bluehost is a straightforward process, but it’s important to follow each step carefully to avoid any issues. Remember, removing SSL means your site will no longer have the encrypted connection that SSL provides, so make sure this is the action you want to take.
