How to Move a Domain to a Different Website in Hostinger Website Builder

Hey everyone, welcome to Ben’s Experience! In this guide, I’ll show you how to move your domain name from one of your websites built using Hostinger Website Builder to another, also built using Hostinger Website Builder, without losing any files from both websites.

Step 1: Access Your Hostinger Account

Log in to your Hostinger account and navigate to your websites list. Identify the website that currently has the domain you want to move. For this example, let’s say the domain name is BenTestingHosting.com.

Step 2: Duplicate Your Website

Next, click on the three dots next to your website connected with the domain name and select “Duplicate Website.” Choose your plan, and a new website will be created as a copy of the original. This new site will have a temporary domain, which I like to call an “ugly domain.”

Step 3: Delete the Original Website

To release the domain name, you’ll need to delete the original website. Click on the three dots next to the original website and select “Delete.” Confirm the deletion by clicking “I understand” and then “Delete” again. This step ensures the domain is no longer linked to the old site.

Step 4: Connect Your Domain to the New Website

Now, go back to your websites list and find the duplicated website. Click “Edit Website” to enter the website builder. Hover over the temporary domain link and select “Connect Domain.” Enter your domain name, select it from the list, and click “Next.”

Step 5: Update Your Website

Make sure to update your website after connecting the domain. This ensures all changes are saved and your domain is properly linked to the new site.

Final Check

Let’s see the new website live. Your domain should now be connected to the second website, and everything should be functioning correctly.
