How to Link Menu to Section in Wix

Welcome to Ben’s Experience! In this post, I will guide you through the process of linking a menu to a section in your Wix website, allowing for smoother navigation and a better user experience.

Step 1: Log Into Your Wix Account

Start by logging into your Wix account. If you have multiple websites, you will see a selection page. Click on “Select and Edit Site” to choose the website you want to work on. If you have only one website, you will be taken directly to the Wix Editor.

Step 2: Open the Wix Editor

Once you are in the Wix Editor, decide which menu item you want to link to a specific section on your page. For this example, we will link the menu item titled “Projects.”

Step 3: Add an Anchor

To link your menu to a section, the first thing you need to do is add an anchor to that section. Click on “Add Elements,” then select “Menu and Anchor.” Drag the anchor element to the desired section on your page.

Step 4: Manage the Menu

After successfully adding the anchor, go back to your menu. Click on the menu and select “Manage Menu.” Ensure that you are in the site menu section.

Step 5: Create a New Menu Item

Since you can’t edit the existing link for “Projects,” create a new menu item. Select the option to link to a section and choose your page. The anchor you just added will automatically be selected. Rename the menu item to match your section (e.g., “Projects”).

Step 6: Publish Your Changes

Once you’ve linked your menu item to the anchor, don’t forget to hit “Publish” to make your changes live.

Final Step: View Your Website

Refresh your website to see the changes in action. Click on the new “Projects” link in your menu, and you should be automatically taken to the corresponding section of your page.
