How to Add a CNAME in Bluehost
Welcome to Ben’s Experience! In today’s guide, we’ll walk through the process of adding a CNAME record in Bluehost. This task is essential for various purposes, such as pointing your domain to a specific address or setting up subdomains. Let’s get started.
Step-by-Step Guide to Adding a CNAME in Bluehost:
- Log into Your Bluehost Account: Start by logging into your Bluehost account. Once logged in, navigate to the main dashboard.
- Access the DNS Settings: Click on the “Websites” tab on the left-hand side of your dashboard. Then, select the domain you want to modify. Under your domain name, click on “Settings.”
- Open the Advanced DNS Editor: In the settings menu, find the “Domains” section. Next to your domain name, click on the three dots (more options) and choose “Advanced DNS Editor.”
- Add a CNAME Record: You are now in the CPanel. Click on the “Add Record” button. From the list of record types, select “CNAME.” Enter the required details for your CNAME record. After filling in the necessary information, click on the “Save Record” button.
- Wait for Propagation: Changes to DNS records can take a few hours to fully propagate. Be patient as the new CNAME record takes effect.
