How to Upload Your Website on Hostinger: A Step-by-Step Guide

Hey everyone, welcome to Ben’s Experience! In today’s video, I’ll walk you through the process of uploading your website to Hostinger. Follow these steps to get your website online quickly and efficiently.

Step 1: Log into Your Hosting Account

Once you’re logged into your Hostinger account, navigate to the “Websites” section and click on “Dashboard.” For this tutorial, I’ll be using my website, BenTestingHosting.com, which is currently empty.

Step 2: Access File Manager

To upload your website, go to “Files” and then “File Manager.” Click on “Access Files” of your website. You’ll see a folder called “public_html.” Delete any default files like “shop” or “default.”

Step 3: Upload Your Website Files

Next, go to “Upload” and locate your website file or files on your computer. If your website consists of multiple files, it’s best to compress them into a single file. In my case, my website has one page, “index.html.” After uploading, your website should be visible in the file manager.

Step 4: Using FTP for Larger Websites

If your website is large or has multiple files, using an FTP program like FileZilla is recommended. Here’s how to do it:

  1. Obtain your FTP credentials by going to “Files” and clicking on “FTP Accounts.”
  2. Note your FTP IP and username. If you’ve forgotten your password, reset it under “Change FTP Password.”
  3. Open FileZilla, enter your credentials, and click “Quick Connect.”
  4. Locate your compressed website file on your computer and drag it to the public_html folder on your hosting account.

Step 5: Extract and Move Files

Once the file transfer is complete, go back to the file manager on your hosting website. Extract the uploaded file, name the extracted folder, and move the files to the public_html folder. This ensures your website files are in the correct location.
