How to Integrate Your Website with Google Search Console

Integrating your website with Google Search Console is essential for anyone serious about tracking their site’s performance and improving its visibility on Google. Google Search Console provides a wealth of data that helps you understand how Google sees your website, making it easier to optimize your content and increase traffic.

Step 1: Access Google Search Console

To start, go to your Google Search Console account. If you have multiple properties (websites) already added, you’ll see a list. Click on the “Add Property” option to integrate a new website.

Step 2: Choose URL Prefix

When prompted, you’ll be given two options for ownership verification: Domain and URL prefix. For easier verification, select URL prefix. This method allows you to verify your website ownership by uploading an HTML file to your site’s root directory.

Step 3: Copy Your Domain Name

Next, copy the domain name of the website you want to integrate. You’ll paste this into the URL prefix field in Google Search Console.

Step 4: Download the Verification File

After entering your domain name, click “Continue.” Google will now generate a verification HTML file that you need to download. Save this file to your computer.

Step 5: Upload the File to Your Website

If your website is hosted on Hostinger, follow these steps:

1. Log into your Hostinger account.
2. Navigate to the “Websites” section and locate the site you want to integrate.
3. Click on “Dashboard” to access the File Manager.
4. Within File Manager, locate the public_html folder. This is where you’ll upload the verification file.
5. Click the “Upload” icon, select the verification HTML file from your computer, and upload it to the public_html directory.

Step 6: Verify Ownership

Once the file is uploaded, return to Google Search Console and click “Verify.” Google will check for the file and confirm your ownership of the website. If verification fails, wait a minute and try again, as sometimes the process takes a moment.
