How to Host a WordPress Website on Hostinger

Hey everyone, welcome to Ben’s Experience! In this post, I’ll guide you through the process of hosting a WordPress website on Hostinger. It’s a straightforward process, and I’ll break it down step-by-step.

Step 1: Access Your Hostinger Account

Once you’re inside your Hostinger account, navigate to the top menu and click on “Websites”. From there, select the “Dashboard” option next to your website.

Step 2: Install WordPress

To install WordPress, scroll down to the “Website” section and click on “Auto Installer” or “WordPress”. Click on “Install” next to the WordPress option.

Step 3: Fill in Website Credentials

You’ll need to fill in your website credentials, such as the website title, administrator email, username, and password. After filling in the required details, click “Next”.

Step 4: Choose WordPress Version and Language

For the application version, I always recommend using the latest WordPress version for better security. You can select your site language from the drop-down menu. Once done, click on “Install”.

Step 5: WordPress Installation Complete

Your WordPress website is now successfully created! Let’s move on to customizing it.

Step 6: Log in to WordPress Dashboard

To install a new WordPress theme, log in to your WordPress dashboard from the admin panel. This can be done easily by clicking the “Admin Panel” button.

Step 7: Install a New Theme

Go to “Appearance” and then “Themes”. Click on the “Add New Theme” button. Personally, I prefer the Astra themes. Activate the Astra theme and click on “Let’s Get Started” with starter templates.

Step 8: Choose a Starter Template

You can choose between an AI website builder or classic starter templates. I prefer the classic starter templates. After selecting your preferred template, click on “Continue”, skip any unnecessary steps, and click on “Submit and Build My Website”.

Step 9: Finalize Your Website

Your new website is ready! Refresh the page to see the changes.

Additional Customizations

To further customize your WordPress website, go to your dashboard where you can:

  • Add new posts
  • Create categories for your posts
  • Add media like photos or videos
  • Create new pages
  • Manage comments
  • Add new themes

To make your WordPress site faster, delete unnecessary plugins such as Hostinger Easy Boarding, Hostinger Tools, and Starter Templates by deactivating and then deleting them.

Conclusion

That’s all for hosting a WordPress website on Hostinger. I hope this guide was helpful. If you have any questions, feel free to leave a comment below.
