How to Edit Navigation Bar in Squarespace

Logging into Your Squarespace Account First, head over to Squarespace and log in using your email address and password. Once logged in, click on the website button for the site you want to edit.

Editing Your Navigation Bar

  1. Access the Pages Section: Click on the Pages section to start editing your navigation bar.
  2. Hiding Navigation Links: If you have a navigation menu link you want to hide, such as a privacy policy page, simply drag and drop it below the “Not Linked” section. This will remove the link from the navigation menu but keep the page on your website.
  3. Reordering Navigation Links: To reorder your navigation links, drag and drop them in the desired order. For example, moving the About page to the second position will update its position in the navigation bar.

Adding External Links To add a link to an external page:

  1. Click on the plus icon.
  2. Scroll down to “Link” and select it.
  3. Enter the URL, file, email, or phone number. For example, to add an email link, select “Email” and enter your email address.
  4. Click “Save” to add the link to your navigation bar.

Creating Dropdown Menus To create a dropdown menu:

  1. Add a folder from the Pages section.
  2. Name the folder (e.g., Events).
  3. Add pages to the folder (e.g., Offline and Online).
  4. The folder will appear as a dropdown menu in your navigation bar.

Designing Your Navigation Menu

  1. Click on the “Edit” button in the Pages section or select the site header.
  2. Click on “Edit Design” to customize the layout, link spacing, and button design.
  3. You can also add effects such as drop shadows and borders, adjust the height, and change the background color of your navigation menu.

Customizing Buttons

  1. Select the header section and click on the button.
  2. You can edit the button’s text, link, and design. For example, change the button text to “Download” and link it to an external page like Google.
