How to Change Nameservers of a Domain in Bluehost

Changing the nameservers of your domain in Bluehost is a straightforward process, and it’s an essential task for anyone managing a website. In this tutorial, I’ll guide you through the steps to update your DNS settings in your Bluehost account.

Step 1: Access the Domains Section

Start by logging into your Bluehost account. Once inside, look to the left side menu and click on “Domains.” If you have multiple domains, you’ll need to select the one you want to update. In my case, I only have a single domain, so I can go directly to the relevant page.

Step 2: Navigate to Advanced Tools

After selecting your domain, scroll down to the bottom of the page. Here, you’ll find an option labeled “Advanced Tools.” Click on this, and then hit “Manage” next to “Name Servers” or “DNS.”

Step 3: Update the Nameservers

On the next screen, you’ll see the current nameservers associated with your domain. To change these, simply replace the existing nameservers with the new ones you want to use. After entering the new nameservers, click “Save.”

Important Note: It can take a few hours for the changes to fully take effect, so if you can’t access your website right away, don’t panic. Just wait a little longer and try refreshing your browser.

By following these steps, you can easily change the nameservers for your domain in Bluehost. This process is crucial for pointing your domain to the correct server, especially if you’re hosting your website or services elsewhere.
