How to Change Background in Canva

Step-by-Step Guide to Changing Background in Canva

Step 1: Create a New Design

First, navigate to Canva’s website at canva.com. For this tutorial, we’ll start with creating a new design. Let’s use an Instagram post template to get a square format.

Step 2: Add an Image as Background

Once you have your blank template, the next step is to add an image. Choose any image you like and set it as your background. Simply drag and drop the image onto your template, and it will automatically set as the background.

Step 3: Change or Remove the Background

To change or remove the existing background image, click on the background image with the right button of your mouse. Select ‘Detach Image from Background’. This action allows you to either replace it with a new image or make other adjustments. You can keep your new image small and set it as the background using the right mouse button.
