How to Add a Section on Squarespace
Adding new sections to your Squarespace website is a great way to enhance its layout and functionality. In this blog post, we’ll guide you through the steps to add a section in Squarespace, ensuring your website looks and performs exactly the way you want.
Step 1: Log In to Your Squarespace Account
First, log in to your Squarespace account using your email address and password. Once logged in, select the website you want to edit by clicking on the relevant website button.
Step 2: Navigate to the Desired Page
To add a section, you need to be on the specific page where you want to make changes. Click on “Pages” to locate and select the page you wish to edit. For instance, if you want to add a section to your About page, click on it to open it for editing.
Step 3: Enter Edit Mode
With the page open, click on the “Edit” button at the top. This will put the page into edit mode, allowing you to make changes to its layout.
Step 4: Add a New Section
Hover your mouse between two existing sections on the page. A blue “Add Section” button will appear. Click on this button to see options for adding a new section. You can choose from adding a blank section, selecting a pre-built section, or using a saved section if you have one.
Step 5: Choose a Section Template
If you choose to add a pre-built section, you’ll have several templates to choose from, including options for testimonials, quotes, scheduling, donations, digital products, images, videos, forms, and chat. Select the one that fits your needs. For example, if you want to add a donation section, pick the relevant template and customize it as needed.
Step 6: Save Your Changes
After adding and customizing your new section, make sure to save your work. This is crucial to ensure that all your changes are preserved.
