How to Crop an Image in Canva

Step 1: Create a New Design

To start, visit Canva and create a new design. For this tutorial, we’ll use a YouTube thumbnail template, but the steps are applicable to any project.

Step 2: Add an Image

Next, add an image to your design. You can upload your own photo or choose one from Canva’s extensive library. For demonstration purposes, we’ll select an image from the library.

Step 3: Use the Crop Tool

Once your image is in place, select it using your mouse. Go to the toolbar and click on the crop tool. This will allow you to either choose from pre-selected aspect ratios or manually adjust the crop area. Drag the corners or edges of the crop box to your desired dimensions.
