How to Add a Shop to Squarespace

Adding a shop to your Squarespace website is a straightforward process that can significantly enhance your online presence. Follow this comprehensive guide to set up your store, add products, and customize your shop to meet your business needs.

Step 1: Log in to Your Squarespace Account Start by logging into your Squarespace account at squarespace.com. Enter your email address and password, then click the “Log In” button.

Step 2: Access the Website Once logged in, select the website where you want to add a shop. Click on the “Website” button below your desired Squarespace site.

Step 3: Add a Store Page Navigate to the “Pages” section and click on the plus icon next to “Main Navigation.” From the options, select “Store.” Choose your preferred store page template from the available options. For this example, we’ll go with the “Your Store” page template.

Step 4: Customize Your Store Name You can now customize your store name. For instance, you might name it “Shop.” After entering the name, press the “Enter” button on your keyboard.

Step 5: Manage Products You are now on your shop page, where you can add, edit, or delete products.

Deleting a Pre-built Product:

1. Click on the three dots next to the pre-built product you want to delete.
2. Select “Delete” and confirm the deletion.

Adding a New Product:

1. Click on the “Add Product” button.
2. Choose the type of product: Physical, Service, Digital, Gift Card, Membership, Website, Video on Demand, or Blog.

For this guide, let’s add a physical product:

1. Name Your Product: Enter a name, such as “T-shirt.”
2. Description: Provide a detailed description of your product.
3. Images: Upload one or more images of your product.
4. Inventory: Set your product price and stock quantity. If the product has variants (e.g., sizes), add them here.
5. Categories and Tags: Organize your products using categories and tags.
6. Selling Tools: Enable features like featured products or related products.

Step 6: SEO and Marketing Optimize your product for search engines:

1. Edit SEO Settings: Customize the product page URL, SEO title, and description.
2. Social Share Settings: Choose an image for social media shares.

Step 7: Publish Your Product Once everything is set up, you have three options:

1. Save: Save your product for later editing.
2. Publish: Publish your product immediately.
3. Schedule: Set a future date and time to publish your product.

For this tutorial, click “Publish” to make your product live.
